Dark Games

What are some good dark games or stories for me to play/read?

I am looking for something like the video game the darkness or some ann rice novel.

Something that I really could get lost in?

games: doom, fear, jericho, any of the silent hill games (very creepy!) manhunt 2, um…thats all i can think of for action games. try looking online for goth adventure games

books: the road (depressing, but soo good) the queen of the damned (ann rice) anything by steven king (try the dark tower series, by far his best!) the house, or the hanible lecter series in paperback.
